We focus on running each Cub Pack Thursday evening with a minimum of 4 Adults. A lot of the time during the evening we split the Cub Pack into 2 Groups with 2 Adults with each Group working with anywhere from 10 to 15 Cubs Per Group.

If we know in advance if we will be under 4 Adults on a Thursday evening we will display the date on this page to request extra help. 

Any other requests for additional Adult support for anything offsite from our normal meeting place we will inform you on the Cub Pack "What's App" Page.

Dear Parents

                Just letting everyone know the current situation regarding adults running the Cub Pack on a Thursday.

Suzie has helped for the past 2 and a half years but now is finishing at the end of the year due to he son moving onto Scouts. 

This will leave the Cub Section with 3 regular and 1 occasional Adult.

Because of how we structure the nights when meeting at the Ironstone Lodge we really need 4 Adults on each night. Ideally 2 Adults with Approximately 10 to 15 in a Group.

With this in mind it does unfortunately mean that in the new year there could always be a chance that a Cub Thursday Night would be Cancelled if suddenly an adult is unable to attend and the other two adults are not happy to run a Cub Night.

A slight Adult shortage does happen from time to time as we have experienced in our many years of being in Scouting. To date, we have never had to Cancelled a night due to not enough Adults.

As Adult Volunteers we do the very best for the Cubs but without the extra support from Parents and other Adults we cannot offer all of the Activities that we would like to offer for the Cubs. We also want and need to ensure that we run our Nights / Activities in a safe environment for all the Cubs

Some of you can't help which we understand due to many reasons, and some don't know until the Start of that week or only on the day about being available to help. This is something that we totally appreciated.

So what are we going to do ?.

Our Adult to Child Ratio is 1 Adult to 8 Cubs for Off - Site Activities plus the Adult Leader in Charge, and we get fantastic support for any off - Site Activities.

Whether we have 25 or 32 Cubs we still need the same minimum amount of Adults for any Off - Site Activities.
