This website set up for anyone wanting to know Information about what our Cub Section provides and Information for all Parents of any new and Current Parents of our young members

Our Cub Pack is the second section in our Scout Group following on from Beavers and meet on a Thursday from 7pm to 8.30pm.

The Core Age for the Cub Section is 8 to 10 1/2 Years Old. Due to Flexibility they can start after 7 1/2 Years Old and must leave before they are 11 Years Old

What to know more about the Cub Section ?

Activities your child will do whilst in Cub Scouting

Scouting has a massive selection of Activities available. Lots of these are seasonal and some that can be done all year round.

All these Activities go towards Badges and Awards. There is more information about these on this page.
However these Activities are only possible with the all the regular Adults and help from parental support.

Were we Meet

Our Main Meeting Place

Located on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray and a couple of minutes extra travelling time past our old meeting venue John Ferneley College, the Ironstone Lodge located at Holwell Pastures Scout Campsite is a fantastic facility for our Cub Pack. We also have access to a large outdoor space.

With the unavailability of John Ferneley in April 2021. We was fortunate to have the availability of the Campsite for our regular evening meetings once we returned to face to face Sessions after the Covid Pandemic.

In October 2021 seeing the benefits of what the campsite could offer to enable a better Scouting Experience for our Young Members “during this period” we choose to make the Campsite our Regular meeting Place.

Also on occasions we do also meet at different Locations throughout the Year
Very recently the Car Park has had a hardcore resurfacing. This means no more muddy footwear during the Winter Months which will be fantastic for everyone.

Other Information

Waiting List: Due to considering future numbers moving on to our Large Scout Section, we currently are sadly having to put a limited on the amount of members we have once they are in Years 5 + 6.
Current Availability: Great News..... We have some spaces available for Boys or Girls in Years 3 + 4..

Adult Availability

This page is to let Parents and others know the Adult Availability.

We focus on running each Cub Pack Thursday evening with a minimum of 4 Adults. A lot of the time during the evening we split the Cub Pack into 2 Groups with 2 Adults with each Group working with anywhere from 10 to 15 Cubs Per Group.

If we know in advance if we will be under 4 Adults on a Thursday evening we will display the date on this page to request extra help.

Any other requests for additional Adult support for anything offsite from our normal meeting place we will inform you on the Cub Pack "What's App" Page.
