This website set up in February 2025 is for anyone wanting to know Information about what the Cub Section provides and Information for all Parents of our Current Members

Our Cub Pack is the second section in our Scout Group following on from Beavers and meet on a Thursday from 7pm to 8.30pm.

The Core Age for the Cub Section is 8 to 10 1/2 Years Old. Due to Flexibility they can start after 7 1/2 Years Old and must leave before they are 11 Years Old
Due to trying to have a balance of different ages and also having to consider future numbers for when members move on to Scouts. From September 2025 any Enquiries in Year 5 and above will sadly have to go on a waiting list.

We are a large Cub Pack that currently relies mainly on New Enquiries for New Members starting their Scouting Adventure. For more Information please click on the “Contact Us” page
Taster Sessions: Your child can attend for up to 3 to 4 Weeks before making a commitment to buy a uniform prior to their official enrollment.

Scouting has a massive selection of Activities available. Lots of these are seasonal and some that can be done all year round.

All these Activities go towards Badges and Awards. There is more information about these on this page.
However these Activities are only possible with the all the regular Adults and help from parental support.

Located half a Mile and only a couple of minutes drive from Melton Mowbray past John Ferneley College, the Ironstone Lodge located at Holwell Pastures Scout Campsite is a fantastic facility for our Cub Pack. We also have access to a large outdoor space.

Despite being a Town Group and with the unavailability of John Ferneley in April 2021. We was fortunate to have the availability of the Campsite for our regular evening meetings once we returned to face to face Sessions after the Covid Pandemic.

In October 2021 seeing the benefits of what the campsite could offer to enable a better Scouting Experience for our Young Members “during this period” we choose to make the Campsite our Regular meeting Place.
